Our Foundation & Philosophy

Woodland Wonder School was founded by the same founder as Woodland Haven, and includes several educators that have been a part of Woodland Haven for many years. Since opening our doors in 2022, we have been wait-listed with very limited availability for preschool positions due to starting with infancy care and prioritizing enrollment for existing families. In response to the frustration of families on this waitlist, with the clear need for an additional school, and with the support of an amazing team of administrators and educators, we decided to expand and open a program that is preschool only and located in central Woodland.

While similar in many ways, Woodland Wonder School is also very different than Woodland Haven. It is a much smaller school with a much different educational approach. Instead of your child having a home classroom, they will have a home class, what we refer to as a "pod", that explores our center-based classrooms together in a small group of peers with a primary teacher. This approach has been proven to be very successful for young children that may struggle with maintaining attention and direction in a traditional preschool classroom setting. This also allows us to maximize the amount of materials in each center. For example, a traditional preschool classroom will typically have a small area for science or dramatic play, whereas at Woodland Wonder School, we have a full room dedicated to these important educational centers.

Our educational philosophy and approach is centered around fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We are committed to supporting each child's unique development and building a strong foundation for their future.

Health & Safety First

We prioritize the health and safety of every child in our care. Our dedicated staff members ensure that our facilities maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. From nutritious meal plans to multiple security systems, we create a secure and healthy environment for your child to thrive. Our property has been updated to be fully enclosed with new fencing and gates that have alarm-activate push bars to notify staff if they are opened. Our courtyard entrance is locked to the public, as well as our front doors. Once you are enrolled, you will be provided with the code information so you can come and go with ease. Our classrooms and play yards are monitored 24 hours a day with new, high-resolution security cameras. All of our doors have security sensors and alarms. We are proud to have created a safe and inclusive oasis in the heart of downtown Woodland and look forward to sharing it with you!
